Carrier Based Immobilized Enzymes

Carrier based immobilized enzymes

A common method to immobilize enzymes is by adsorbing them on a carrier. To avoid leaching, the enzyme may be covalently bound to the carrier. This is a very unsatisfactory synopsis. A different carrier has an impact on wear, on filtration or on behavior in a column. These are well known and accepted. A different carrier can also have a major impact on the apparent activity of the enzyme or it defines if a reaction stops at 80% or reaches full conversion.

CLEA technologies does not just immobilize on a carrier. We understand the chemistry of your reaction and select the carrier that fits.

Off the shelf, we provide immobilized CalB on different carriers. Other enzymes are available on request and/or made on demand.
